OUR STORY

Masterland Farm was originally a mixed farm for both Dairy and Arable. Hugh and Margaret Davies decided to start diversifying in 1976 to a touring site, starting with 10 pitches and one single toilet. This is where their dream began, developing a family run business, in a much sought after tourist destination.

 

Proving popular, this resulted in Margaret and Hugh working full-time to develop the caravan park, meaning that by the 1990's Masterlands' animal farming came to a foreseeable end. The surrounding land was temporary let to a local farmer, for summer grazing by herd of cows. This continued for almost two decades. It was during this time that the farm buildings (including the tractor shed, stable, cow shed and workshop) were transformed, into part of which is now the reception and function building.

 

After Hugh sadly passed away, the business was acquired by son Kevin. He worked alongside his mother, Margaret, as the caravan park continued to thrive. Years later, the work team extended to other members of the family, including Wesley (Son) and Kevin's partner Sharon, all having important roles in the business.

With so much potential for the surrounding land, Kevin's eldest son, Ashley, reinstated animal farming at Masterland. Now it is home to a herd of sheep, a rescue donkey, horses, chickens, ducks and more! The farmland is also used for silage in the summer months.

 

Kevins daughter, Molly joined the family business, taking the helm at the reception and assisting her father in the administration duties. In 2016, we introduced our Woodland Camping Pods. Margaret lived to see Masterland blossom into the site as we know it today. A testament to what both she and Hugh had worked so tirelessly hard to achieve. Margaret passed away peacefully in 2018.

 

In the summer of 2019, a new sector 'Masterland Farm Apiary' was launched. Molly's inspiration to become a bee-keeper was realised and since, has successfully harvested our own wild-flower honey. First batch summer of '21 and continues.

 

As a family, we run the business consisting of Kevin, Sharon, Ashley, Wesley and Molly and our supportive family partners, welcoming customers old and new to Masterland Farm. A traditional family run business, that continues to serve our guests, for generations to come.
